It`s a small place, as you can tell by the bus stop...

Stopped at a soba-house for some tea...I was wondering where the cushions were until it turned out that the table was actually the chair...

Southern Kyoto at Night

Some cool colors in the sky tonight, so I just stepped out onto the balcony and got some pics.

...black and blue?...This one is actually looking straight out my 4th-floor door. The bright part bottom-right is the train station, that`s the bus-rotary in the middle, and the bright lights are the shopping center. Talk about close to transport and shops

Been a while since I added anything to this blog. There are 2 reasons:

1. I`ve been busy. I have started using my computer time to list items on eBay. I was a successful seller on eBay for 2 years but sort of gave up on it when I had to use all of my time preparing to move house at the end of last year.

2. Nothing has really earned my wrath, tickled my fancy, or stoked the fires of passion (in a non-literal sense, that is).

But yesterday I read an article that gives support to those who think that stupidity should sometimes be a punishable offence. In this case, it is selfishness and cowardice to a degree rarely seen in human beings, and it happened in Australia......

One of the biggest news mysteries of the 80`s was the disappearance of baby Azaria Chamberlain from an Uluru (Ayres Rock) campsite in Central Australia. It was claimed by the baby`s mother, Lindy Chamberlain, that the baby was snatched by a dingo (wild dog native to Australia) on August 17, 1980, but her body was never found.

Lindy Chamberlain was tried for murder, found guilty and jailed in 1982. The verdict was later upturned and Lindy was acquitted and freed in 1986.

Apart from losing her daughter and 4 years of life in jail, she and her husband, Michael, also divorced. Even when she was released, with no body ever found and many not believing the story she was a much hated woman.

Which brings us to the current time.

A Melbourne pensioner, Frank Cole, says he shot a dingo near Uluru in 1980. The animal had a dead baby in its jaws.

He said three of his friends went to the Chamberlain campsite with the intention of telling authorities of the grisly find but they became scared that they would get in trouble for shooting illegally in a national park.

Mr Cole claimed his friends were going to bury the baby there and then but ran off when someone approached them, leaving the bloodied jumpsuit on the ground.

The friends then decided they would not go to authorities afterall because they were afraid. Instead, they let an innocent woman`s life be ruined so that they could avoid a fine for illegal shooting.

Mr Cole said one of his friends, Mr Farmer, took the body and could have buried it in the backyard of his house.

Mr Farmer, a truck wrecker, died in the early 1980s, and probably rightly so by the sounds of it!!

The current owner of the suburban house the late Mr farmer lived in at the time has been approached and has apparently agreed to let the property be examined. Maybe the mystery of Azaria Chamberlain will finally be solved?

So, there`s the support of stupidity as a punishable offence. If Mr Cole`s story is true, then he and his friends are cowards of indescribable proportions. If he is making it all up, then he deserves a prison sentence anyway for being a shit-stirring old wanker!
